Well
hello again! Time for my second blog entry… WOW!! Well it has been a
stressful month but a very productive one at that! First off, I FOUND
MY DRESS!
YEY it’s so beautiful!!! If you asked me to describe it, I would
properly describe it as a not to over the top princess style gown, made
from satin and organza. I found it at a shop in Petersham called
Peretti Bridal design, as soon as I tried it on it FELT like my dress,
then when I walked out with it on, we both knew that it was defiantly
the one! Surprisingly it wasn’t that expensive and I actually got the
veil free of charge because I brought it early, which I was happy
about!
After I found my dress, we couldn’t proceed in making any further
decisions until we had chose a colour theme, so After ALOT of thinking
and deciding and changing my mind and deciding again, we thought that
because we wanted the reception to incorporate a really romantic feel,
white, Ivory, Lilac and light pink, if done right, should help us
create the right ambience that we were looking for so we made the final
decision and decided to stick to those 4 colours. Obviously now that we
had the colour theme, I was able to begin my search for the perfect
bridesmaids dresses. I must have looked at nearly EVERY website there
was for some ideas on the style of dress that I wanted and a dress that
would compliment each bridesmaid individually, so, after I had a load
of ideas in my head, I took my sister Mary, who is also my matron of
honour out looking for some dresses and we stumbled on a small boutique
in Parramatta Westfield’s called NOVITA, they had SUCH nice dresses in
every colour and style imaginable! So we chose quite a few and Mary
tried each dress on until we came across the perfect dress! It was a
floor length satin gown, fitted from the bust down, each with a
plunging V-neck, the colour of the dresses can only be described as a
silverly Lilac colour, very elegant and absolutely stunning! Each dress
has 2 stunning broaches pinned to the dress just below the shoulder but
above the chest. Each dress was a costly $400.00 but well worth it if
you ask me.
After finding my dress and the Bridesmaids dresses I decided to
book the hair and Make-up artist. Once again I was back to the drawing
board, doing my research on the Internet. Looking for a hair &
make-up artist, I wanted someone that would create a really natural
look and someone that I could trust would do a good job! So in doing my
research I came across a lady called Sharon Leigh, she is one of
Sydney’s leading hair & make-up artists at the moment, not to
mention she has over 16 years experience!! She was by far everything I
was looking for and more, and not to expensive either considering
make-up to me, is properly the most important thing on the day. So I
booked her. I also thought that I would shout my bridesmaids the cost
of their hair & make-up on the day as my gift to them for
participating in the wedding, which I’m sure being pampered on they day
they will love but this was also a way to ensure that all their hair
& makeup was the same and none of the girls would have to worry
about their hair and make-up and hopefully assisting in reducing the
stress levels on the day lol.
So now that we had our colour theme, next up were the cars! That
wasn’t hard at all, Tim and I loved the 300c Chrysler’s in white, and
so it was just a matter of Limo or sedan? We thought that 3 white
sedans would be really elegant so after Tim did all the research on the
car’s (hehe) we went and had a look at Entice wedding cars, they were a
local company that actually had 3 300c Chrysler sedans available which
was very hard to find and their cars were amazing and immaculate! Not
to mention they came with complimentary champagne and nibbles! Yum! So
we booked them!
YEY PROGRESS!!!!! lol
So now we have the church, the reception, the cars, the dress, the
bridesmaids dresses, the hair & make-up artist, the photographer
and the Videographer all booked! Now we just have the florist, the
wedding rings, my jewellery, the flower girls, Tim and his Groomsmen
attire, all the shoes, the reception decorations, the invitations,
Bonbonnieres and lots lot’s more remaining. How fun!
Till next time
