Bonjour! My name is Maria, I am 23, from Sydney and I am getting married!!

Yay it's such a wonderful and exciting time!

I have grown up all my life thinking I wouldn't ever get married until....I met Heath, 25. We met on the internet on a dating site. I had just moved from Queensland and was sick of meeting morons in clubs and he was doing night shift and found it difficult to meet normal girls! He asked me to meet a few times but as you do, I declined the first few times.

Just after New Years I thought, you know what..why not? So I sent him an email but I had Wilma Flintstone as my name in hotmail so when he received it, he thought it was spam and deleted it!!  I saw him online again and asked him if he got my email & he's like um no? So I asked if he wanted to meet up and he agreed.

He phoned me that night and we spoke and he seemed normal & had a great laugh. We met up the next day for lunch. I had seen photos but they weren't 100% clear so I was taking a chance on this guy! Then this guy dressed in cargos, a shirt and a hat walks up to me and I was impressed...decent sized arms, nice teeth..I thought ooh nice work! After that day we have pretty much been inseperable ever since! Although we did arrange to "bump" into each other at a club in the city. So this leads to where our friends think we met. Although my friends and both our families know...Heath's still don't.
He was just embarrassed to start with as he felt only "losers" used online dating but then the white lie carried on for so long that he felt bad telling his friends the truth after so long...!

Ok now the engagement details....!! I won a competition on the radio station NOVA 969 where I had to be locked in a hotel in solitary confinement for 10 days with no luxeries. No phone, no tv, no radio and more importantly no Heath...It was very hard and stressful but I made it through! I was supposed
to come out on the 11th day but they did a SMS poll to release me and Heath sms'd 60 times to release me early- during the texts he got a reply back from NOVA saying 'Heathy stop it'!!! Upon my release on the 7th June 2007, I was in the Studio at Nova 969 talking to Merrick and Rosso when they say
Heath is here and in walks Heath with the biggest bunch of flowers I had ever seen and we share a warm embrace and a kiss. The longest we had been apart in the past is no more than 48 hours! So 10 days was really hard! He tells me that having me away for 10 days has made me realise how much I mean to him. He tells me that he wants to grow old with me and then gets out a ring from his pocket, gets down on one knee and asks me to marry him! Live on the radio!!! I was so surprised and happy and just filled with so much emotion, I had tears in my eyes and said Yes and hugged him so hard and told him I loved him!!!!

It was amazing! The ring is absolutely beautiful, fits perfectly and is huge!!! I now have that moment on audio and video to keep forever! He is the most perfect boyfriend ever! I am so glad I met him and he has shown me what true love and reciprocated love is!

My prize for the competition was a trip to Paris for 2! 5 nights accomodation and airfares paid for. I was advised I had to take it within a year but have just found out that I am able to take it as our Honeymoon....Life couldn't be more perfect at the moment!!

We have set a date, 15th November 2008. The church has been booked, St Peter Chanel at Woolwich. The reception is on the Sydney Glass House. Which is absolutely amazing. It's a 2 level boat. Upper deck is open and the bottom level is 360 degrees of glass. Simple stunning. So as you cruise
down Darling Harbour you can enjoy the sites of the Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge and the city lights!

"A dream that is dreamed by two will always come true"

Love Maria
