OK - time for a 2nd Entry....We have put a deposit down for the Sydney
Glass Island but now we have back peddled a bit and can't decide on the
church.
We are stuck between St Peter's Chanel at Woolwich or Cirettii
Chapel at Manly. Both the insides of the churches are whats bugging
me!! St Peters Chanel is sooo beautiful but has this hidious green
carpet inside which can be covered by a red runway carpet which can be
hired. A photographer said this is what her friend did and the
whitedress looked amazing on the red carpet. So I do like the sound of
that! BUT the Church at Manly the surrounds is so so so beautiful!
Although the Pews inside the church aren't normal horizontal pews
they run from the back door all the way down to the alter. I dont want
all my guests to get sore necks!!!
We got some beautiful candles from Dusk- (A candle store found in
most Westfields) to go on the tables at the reception. They are frosted
champage flutes filled with white wax and a a silver glittery heart on
the side. So when you light the candle the whole thing has a magical
presence to it! We also got little motive which are tea light candle
holders which are sparkley silver! So basic theme is white and silver
and we are thinking of having a table runner of the tiffany's green
(think of the box ladies!) to give some colour....! Yet to be
decided....
I attended the briday expo at the Hordern Pavillion last month. The
only thing I booked was my photographer. I booked Inlighten
Photography. They are located in Leichhardt. Quite pricey but appear to
be very good. We decided to go with a mazagine style album which is
printed on the paper not photos stuck in a book. This way after 50
years at looking at the album the photos will always looks fabulous and
never need re-sticking!! They do a lot of location shoots at The
Maldives and they said we might be able to get a good deal through a
resort over there.
We are still up in the air about the
honeymoon. We both have our hearts set on The Maldives and once hearing
about a possible upgrade or something from the photographer its making
the decision easier!! We are thinking a week- 10 days at the Maldives.
Do some Island hopping and see a few Islands in the Maldives. There are
over 1000 Island there but only about 200 are inhabitable. Apparently
The Maldives will be underwater soon (I dont know how soon but I am
guessing 20-30 years plus!) So we want to go to this dream place before
it's all under water! So Maldives 7-10 days in Nov after the wedding
and then around May 2009 we will do Europe for a month or 2. I dont
want to do Europe (incl my Paris trip) in Nov as it will be too bloody
cold!
Again more on that later....!
I have my engagement
party next weekend at The Blacket which is in the city- we have booked
out the sky room which is a roof top function roof on the 9th Level so
lots of beautiful city views. I panicked for a bit because I was
thinking, "ahh what if it rains?" but luckily they have a roof that can
be pulled over for cover 'Phew!!!' Then my next panic was what DJ to
use.
Everyone I spoke to was booked out or didnt seem suitable.
I finally found a DJ on myspace of all places. A DJ I know who DJ's at
Dragonfly- a club in Sydney said his friend just came back from England
and is a really great DJ.
He told me who he was and I just
laughed...he ended up being the friend of my ex-boyfriend! The DJ said
he would do it and asked if he could bring a friend or 2 along to the
party to keep him company....I didnt mind long as he didnt bring my ex!
Imagine how awkward that would be for all involved!!
I will let you all know how my little party went.
Remember...."A dream that is dreamed by two will always come true"
