Cars and transport PDF Print E-mail

Not only will your wedding transport take you where you want to go, it will also make a statement about you, the bridal couple.

These days the choice is extensive. From the classic  elegance of a Bentley, Jag or Rolls Royce to fun and funky Cadillacs or Hot Rods, there is something for everybody. You can even arrive on a Harley Davidson if you really want to turn some heads!

Depending on the number in your wedding party, you will need at least three cars.

The first car is for the bride and her father to travel to the ceremony venue. The bride's mother and bridesmaids  travel in another, and the groom and his party arrive in the third car.

After the ceremony the couple take the first car to the photo location and on to the reception. The attendants take the second car and the bride?s parents travel in the third.

When considering what you need, look at the capacity of each type of car. A stretch limo carries between ten and 12 passengers, a limo will carry six passengers and other cars can carry between two and four passengers.

As most guys reckon they know a thing or two about cars, choosing the transport may the one thing the groom will really enjoy so let him have some fun.

Choosing a professional transport company will ensure everything runs smoothly on the day. A professional company will be fully insured and licensed by the RTA. The drivers will be neatly uniformed and should be courteous and helpful. They may even offer you extras such as red carpet and champagne and snacks to nibble on the way to your photo location.

You will be working to a strict schedule on the day so timing is important. Ask your transport company for a time estimate between the various venues. Double-check with a trial run on the same day of the week and at the same time if possible to replicate your wedding day conditions and give you an indication of the time you need. Also check with the RTA and local councils for any road closures, road works or special events scheduled for the day of your wedding.

A fabulous getaway car is an exciting way to end your evening. Here you can really go wild and rent a sports car or convertible to be whisked away in. It will also make a gorgeous prop for those late night pics in the city. Don't  forget to designate a family member or friend you trust to drive, one who will remember to drink responsibly throughout the evening and drop you safely at your hotel.
