Katoomba's landmark Carrington Hotel dates back to 1880. In 1991 work began on the historic property to restore it to its full former glory. The hotel looks out onto Katoomba Street from its famous stained glass facade, tiled and columned verandah and the Italianate balustrades and curved stairs, added to the hotel in 1913.

Inside there is a magnificent lead light dome, high gilded ceilings and a number of rooms - such as the ballroom with crystal chandeliers, and the dining room - which are reminiscent of the elegance of The Carrington's glory days when it was host to kings and queens, and dukes and duchesses.
